THE WORLD'S PREMIER HISTORIC SERIES FOR DRIVERS
HERO-ERA Cup Rules
Leading crews from the 2024 HERO-ERA Cup Series will be invited to the Annual HERO-ERA Cup and Golden Roamer Prize Presentation Dinner at the Royal Automobile Club in January 2025.
To be eligible for HERO-ERA Cup points, the entrant must:
1: Compete in the individual events to be able to qualify for HERO-ERA Cup points – by doing so they confirm their acceptance of these 2024 HERO-ERA Cup rules.
2: Entrants must be a member at the time of the event to be eligible for points and maintain their membership until 31 Dec 2024.
3: Points are only scored by the individual entrant. The entrant is entitled to use different cars for different events and have a different Co-Drivers/Navigators on different events. The same applies to Golden Roamer Trophy entrants – they can partner with different drivers on different events in different vehicles.
4: Points are awarded on individual legs based on the class results as published (so if a HERO-ERA Cup participant is the class winner they get maximum points, if the highest placed crew are not, and the highest placed HERO-ERA Cup participant is 3rd in Class they would get the points for third in class and so on)
5: There are no restrictions on the number of qualifying events from which HERO-ERA Cup points may be claimed. However, a maximum of 16 legs count for points once 16 scores are reached the entrants can continue to score points but their worst scores will be dropped for anything over 16 legs
6: In the event of a tie, the win will go to the entrant with the highest number of class positions.
7: Class positions will be calculated by ignoring overall positions; i.e first overall on the event will be first in class for HERO-ERA Cup points, not the class position shown in results.
Points will be awarded to the entrant according to the following schedule:
Competitors finishing first in class at the end of a leg are awarded 10 HERO-ERA Cup points multiplied by the event coefficient.
Competitors finishing second in class at the end of a leg are awarded 8 HERO-ERA Cup points multiplied by the event coefficient.
Competitors finishing third in class at the end of a leg are awarded 6 HERO-ERA Cup points multiplied by the event coefficient.
Competitors finishing fourth in class at the end of a leg are awarded 5 HERO-ERA Cup points multiplied by the event coefficient.
Competitors finishing fifth in class at the end of a leg are awarded 4 HERO-ERA Cup points multiplied by the event coefficient.
Competitors finishing sixth in class at the end of a leg are awarded 3 HERO-ERA Cup points multiplied by the event coefficient.
Competitors finishing seventh in class at the end of a leg are awarded 2 HERO-ERA Cup points multiplied by the event coefficient.
Competitors finishing eighth in class at the end of a leg are awarded 1 HERO-ERA Cup point multiplied by the event coefficient.
To add a bit of spice to the HERO-ERA Cup and Golden Roamer Trophy, overall event winners will be awarded a bonus of 5 points, 3 for second and 1 point for third place.
The same bonus points will be awarded to the top three drivers on each event in the Test Pilot category and the same for the navigators in the Clockwatchers category.
These points will be considered as bonus points and are in addition to the potential 16 scoring legs, i.e A crew can score on 16 legs and any bonus points will be added to their total.
Disputes
The Organisers reserve the right to adjudicate on any queries raised regarding the allocation of points. A provisional points table will be published on the HERO-ERA website within seven days of the end of each qualifying event and entrants will have a further seven days in which to raise any queries. These must be submitted in writing. If appropriate, a further set of points will be published which will remain open to query for a further seven days from publication. Once this period has expired the points will be considered final and not subject to any further amendment. The award winners will be announced in accordance with the above schedule and the formal presentation of the HERO-ERA Cup will take place in early 2025.
Disclaimer
Should the HERO-ERA Cup prizes not be available to the winners for reasons beyond HERO-ERA’s control, HERO-ERA reserves the right to change the prizes accordingly and will communicate the new prizes to the individual winners.
