The planning for this year’s RAC Rally of the Tests is continuing apace and the efforts of the team working behind the scenes mean we can now share some of the highlights you can look forward to in November.
We have identified all the venues; however, some are subject to final sign off by the Ministry of Defence, circuits and other private organisations. We are confident that we will be able to access them, but with ongoing operational requirements their use remains subject to change. This year’s running of the event will still be as challenging as you have all come to expect over the past two decades.
With the ethos of Rally of Tests starting from whence it finished the previous year we start from the resort town of Llandudno were concluded last year’s event. We also have two nights in the same location with Leg One being loop around Northwest Wales and Anglesey before we head south through the remainder of Wales
Both the Prologue and first day will see crews enjoy the challenging roads of the area with tests at various venues, a number new to Testers , the last time we were on Anglesey was on the 10th anniversary event which ran over 6 days the first three in Ireland then a restart from Anglesey until we finished in Blackpool
After a brief rest, Saturday an early start due to venue requirements ,sees another long and demanding day for crews, with a number of tests and regularities as we head south through rallying heartland with a supper halt in Builth Wells before the night section on the Epynt Ranges heading to the overnight halt around 20:30 in the iconic Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells , home of rallying in Wales for over 70 years.
Hopefully refreshed from the overnight stop, crews will be set up for a final “sting in the tail” in Wales returning to the Epynt ranges in daylight before the final push south to finish in Newport where the celebrations will take place. Hotel.
Herewith attached is the unseeded list of entrants so far received, which can also be found on our website; please contact the Rally Office to advise us of any changes, missing or incorrect information as soon as possible.

RAC Rally of the Tests LITE
Following an enthusiastically received second edition this year, the "LITE" version will return in 2026, running alongside the traditional format. This option offers less nighttime driving and simplified navigation allowing wider accessibility to crews of all capabilities. Based on participant feedback, selective plotting will be incorporated, though never while moving and new test classes will be introduced where entries permit.

Event Schedule
Prologue – 19th November 2026
As darkness falls, our one-and-a-half-hour Prologue will hopefully ease you into the swing of things with a couple of regularities and a test using the Great Orme and, in the lanes, surrounding Llandudno, warming both crew members up before returning to Rally HQ and the Welcome Dinner. Arriving around 19:00 crews can enjoy the evening and recount tales of triumph and woe from the first competitive elements of this year’s RAC Rally of the Tests and speculate over where we are heading and the likely winners.
Leg One – 20th November 2026
The morning starts with quite a long run down the A55 to a brace of tests then onto a regularity ,our first on Anglesey of four , followed by a visit to Trac Mon for three tests and the morning coffee halt in the circuit café , a stage rally is taking place the next day so the tests will have some chicane elements included , trust me speaking from experience you don’t want to hit any as they don’t move !
Refreshed by the coffee stop you head out into the lanes of Anglesey for a couple more sections and test before returning to the circuit got a repeat, almost, of the tests before heading to lunch in the nearby Rhosneigr.
Suitably fed and watered, we resume with a final test and regularity before leaving the island and heading onto the Lleyn peninsular , our final test of the day , early I know but that will be 11 tests completed already toady , sees three challenging regularities split with a supper halt near Porthmadog , the last three sections will be tackled in the dark , with Lite crews stepping out after the first of these and heading back to the finish while the main crews have the challenges of navigating the complex but great lanes which skirt the Conwy valley as they head back to the overnight halt in Llandudno.
Leg Two – 21st November 2026
An early morning start begins with a bang; several tests close the Llandudno! Before we start our journey south to Mid Wales, the two regularities take us into territory used in 2025 but in the opposite direction before two tests and a coffee halt will give crews a welcome break.
The pressure continues after a road section with two regularities and an awesome test before a relatively early lunch on the shores of Lake Tal-y- llyn, after lunch we have two challenging regularities one of which was the highlight of the 2012 route, the clerk of the courses first edition of ROTT.
After a short breather there are two tests in the Sweet Lamb rally complex and one final regularity and two tests before the supper halt at Builth Wells. The Lite crews step out here and head for the Metropole Hotel but the main field the fun and challenges now ramp up in the darkness with three tests with three time control sections on the Ranges over some 60 miles in total, before crews arrive at the overnight halt with no doubt numerous stories to tell.
Leg Three – 22nd November 2026
We start the final day with two back in Builth Wells and two on the Ranges, this time in the daylight , we than tackle on off road regularity and two more tests on the Ranges before we finally leave the iconic rally eternity but not before starting a long regularity on the private land that we are so privileged to use.
Brecon cattle market sees the coffee halt where the crews will no doubt have plenty of stories to tell of the morning activities, we are now on the home stretch with a quick blast around the mart site then three more regularities before we arrive a lunch in Usk where its nearly time for the navigators to relax as all we have to finish are three tests for the crews to enjoy before heading to the conclusion of the event at the finish in Newport.
