The 23rd edition of the RAC Rally of the Tests will start from the 2024 finish location in Windermere. Heading south, the route winds through scenic sections of Cumbria and the Pennines, with an overnight stop in Blackburn. The following day sees competitors crossing into the Peak District, pausing in Stoke at a site steeped in Rally of the Tests history. The final leg leads crews through rallying heartland in the principality before a seaside finish in Llandudno.
Renowned as the ultimate challenge on the historic rally calendar, the "Tests" features a rigorous blend of regularities, tests, and time controls across iconic roads and venues in the North of England, the Peak District, and North Wales. The 2025 edition begins along the shores of Lake Windermere, with a traditional prologue setting the tone for three intense days of competition. Drivers and navigators alike will face diverse terrain, from forest tracks to private land, ensuring an engaging and varied experience.
RAC Rally of the Tests LITE
Following an enthusiastically received second edition, the "LITE" version will return in 2025, running alongside the traditional format. This option offers less nighttime driving and simplified navigation, allowing wider accessibility. Based on participant feedback, selective plotting will be incorporated, though never while moving, and new test classes will be introduced as entries permit.

Event Schedule
Prologue - 06 November 2025
The event opens traditionally with a short prologue: a couple of hours navigating dark Cumbrian lanes, easing teams into the event and establishing the running order. Crews then regroup for a Welcome Dinner at the hotel.
Leg One - 07 November 2025
The first full day kicks off early, packed with challenges. Heading north to a renowned testing ground for a series of tests and time control sections, teams then travel south through breathtaking roads across the Pennines, dipping into Lancashire and Yorkshire. The final segments promise to test drivers and navigators with both new and familiar locations before halting overnight in Blackburn, a fresh stop for Rally of the Tests.
Leg Two - 08 November 2025
Day two brings competitors south-east into the rugged terrain of the Peak District. With plentiful regularities and tests, this leg will challenge both driver and navigator, including a lunch break at a site owned by a long-time rally competitor and supporter. As night falls, the intensity peaks with sections in a historic Rally of the Tests location, before crews retire to recount the day's thrills and trials.
Leg Three - 09 November 2025
The final leg leads west through Shropshire and the border counties before entering North Wales, culminating in a trio of tests at a venue last used nearly 20 years ago.
