China has welcomed the teams and officials. Crews enjoyed the city before the start whilst the locals have been fascinated by the historic cars as they lined up ready to depart to embark on their adventure.

Starting from the Great Wall of China, we will bring you words from our globe trotting reporter, Syd Stelvio, and pictures as the cars the cars left the start line after a traditional Chinese ceremony.

37 days from Peking to Paris is going to be a tough challenge, but after five long years away, the epic adventure had finally begun.
