Enzo Ferrari described the Jaguar E-Type as "The most beautiful car ever made", from the legendary Maranello constructor, this was high praise indeed.
This right hand drive car has been re-built to a very high standard, the engine has been fully overhauled and to say the performance is stunning is a real understatement, the sound from the straight-six engine is truly spectacular.
Inside is as good as the exterior and mechanicals, high grade leather bucket seats and a driving position that lets you gaze over the seemingly endless bonnet. More suited to the touring style and cross-continent events, the Jaguar E-Type is a vehicle that has to be driven to be appreciated.
The Jaguar E-Type or the Jaguar XK-E for the North American market was manufactured by Jaguar Cars Ltd between 1961 and 1975.
Its combination of beauty, high performance, and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960's motoring.
At a time when most cars had drum brakes, live rear axles, and mediocre performance, the E-Type sprang on the scene with 150 mph and a sub-7 second 0-60 time, monocoque construction, disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, independent front and rear suspension, and unrivalled looks.
In fact, the E-Type was based on Jaguar's own famed racer, the Type D, which had won Le Mans -the world's most prestigious sports-car race in three consecutive years (1955-1957).
