1968 Jaguar E-Type FHC (RHD)
Grace, pace and elegance make this ice blue E-Type an absolute favourite
Enzo Ferrari called it "the most beautiful car ever made" — this ice blue E-Type FHC proves the claim still holds. Race-bred from the Le Mans-winning D-Type, it combines 150mph performance with timeless elegance. Fully rebuilt, spectacular-sounding, and impeccably finished inside, this automotive icon is perfect for touring events. A true bucket-list drive.
Enzo Ferrari described the Jaguar E-Type as "The most beautiful car ever made", from the legendary Maranello constructor, this was high praise indeed.
That comment was made 66 years ago, but for many it still holds true today. Such a timeless design still takes the beholder’s breath away, the fixed head coupe like this gorgeous ice blue right hand drive car can still stop the show and hold the crowd as this very car has done, whether it is at Goodwood, on event or in the petrol station.
At a time when most cars had drum brakes, live rear axles, and mediocre performance, the E-Type sprang on the scene with 150 mph and a sub-7 second 0-60 time, monocoque construction, disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, independent front and rear suspension, and unrivalled looks. No wonder it lives on as a pure automotive legend!
In fact, the E-Type was based on Jaguar's own famed racer, the Type D, which had won Le Mans -the world's most prestigious sports-car race in three consecutive years (1955-1957).The E-Type went on to be a race winner and Ferrari beater in the hands of the likes of Graham Hill, taking many titles such as in the famous Guards Trophy races. Today they race in Historic events around the world, at the Le Mans Classic and at Goodwood Revival where they traditionally fight with AC Cobras and Ferrari GTOs for supremacy.
This inspiring car has been re-built to a very high standard, the engine has been fully overhauled and to say the performance is stunning is a real understatement, the sound from the straight-six engine is truly spectacular.
Inside is as good as the exterior and mechanicals, high grade leather bucket seats and a driving position that lets you gaze over the seemingly endless bonnet. More suited to the touring style and cross-continent events, the Jaguar E-Type is a vehicle that has to be driven to be appreciated.
Its combination of beauty, high performance, and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960's motoring, but now this moving piece of automotive art can be hired for suitable HERO-ERA events. Entering a HERO-ERA event in this car as an E-Type driver will allow the hirer to fulfil a dream by driving one of the best designed and most recognisable cars on the planet.
